Rolex Explorer II black dial Unworn
Rolex Explorer II black dial Unworn
A striking black dial provides the perfect backdrop for luminous hour markers and a distinctive orange GMT hand on this robust timepiece. Crafted in steel the watch features a fixed 24 hour engraved bezel and a date display magnified by a cyclops lens. The classic Oyster link bracelet completes the design, offering both durability and timeless style for everyday wear. This watch is unworn with some stickers intact as it is ‘New Old Stock’.
Rolex's dedicated adventure watch, the Explorer, traces its origins back to mountain climbing in 1953, in 1971, Rolex unveiled the Explorer II as the larger sibling to the original Explorer I wristwatch. A 24-hour hand and bezel were meant to keep the likes of spelunkers or arctic explorers oriented when it might be easy to lose track of whether it's day or night. There have been five Explorer II iterations to date. The very first reference looked and functioned a bit differently than the modern variation, but the Rolex Explorer II that's well known today was established in approximately 1985.
